The Passmores Cooperative Learning Community welcomes The Downs Primary School to the Trust

THE Passmores Cooperative Learning Community (PCLC), the educational trust with responsibility for Passmores Academy, Potter Street Academy and Purford Green School, is delighted to welcome its newest member of the Trust, The Downs Primary School.

Vic Goddard, the CEO of PCLC said: ‘The Downs is a well-established and successful school in the heart of Harlow, so we were very happy when their governing body approached us to discuss the possibility of them becoming an academy with our support.

“The ethos of PCLC is to be inclusive of our whole community and to put children first before worrying what looks good for this or any other government.

“The PCLC family of schools already work hard together to achieve this, so to welcome another part of the Harlow community in to the Trust that already has the same passion and commitment is fantastic.

I cannot wait to learn from the expertise already at The Downs and to offer them the new opportunities that are available when working as part of such a cohesive and supportive group of schools.’

The Chair of PCLC, Paul Beashel endorsed Mr Goddard’s comments. He said:”I am excited to see the Trust grow and to be able to make an even greater difference to Harlow’.

Paul Adams, who is Chair of Governors at The Downs, agreed, stating: ‘The decision to become an academy and to join the Passmores Cooperative Learning Community was not taken quickly and without considering all of the options available to us. We are thrilled to become part of such an inclusive, successful and child-centred trust, and we are really looking forward to working together to help all of the schools in the family go from strength to strength.’
