HARLOW Council has announced that the Proms in the Town Park will take place on Saturday 19 September.
The historic outdoor concert, the first of its kind to be held in Harlow, will feature a headline performance from the world-renowned Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and mark another major moment in the transformation of Harlow.

The event date has been revised to align with the wider programme of events taking place at the park’s new bandstand, which is now nearing completion. The updated schedule will see the bandstand host a series of major community events, including the largest ever Town Show in August.
All other elements of the Proms in the Town Park will remain the same, including a headline performance from the world-renowned Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.
The concert will deliver a Last Night of the Proms-style experience, featuring iconic anthems such as Jerusalem, Land of Hope and Glory and Rule Britannia. The internationally acclaimed orchestra, known for its performances at the Royal Albert Hall, will be joined by Harlow Chorus for a vibrant evening celebrating British musical tradition.
The free event, which requires no tickets, is expected to attract families, friends and visitors from across the town. Food and drink outlets will also be available throughout the evening.
Entertainment will begin at 5pm with performances from Livewire Vocal Collective, Harlow Brass Band and the London Tango Quintet.
The main concert starts at 7.30pm, culminating in a fireworks finale at approximately 9.25pm.
Full programme:
A fireworks finale will take place at 9.25pm, and Harlow Brass Band will perform during stage turnarounds.
Proms in the Town Park is being organised in association with Saffron Hall.
Revised/realigned date... Why not just say postponed? It's obviously because the bandstand won't be ready on time why pretend otherwise... And surely this was supposed to be the big opening night for the new improved bandstand. Come on Dan tell us the truth. I did vote for you.
@Harlow Resident - Lol, I was about to write the exact same thing. Why even pretend? That makes it a lie, which then becomes an issue. Its not a problem to say its delayed. Let's watch and see if the bandstand is finished by July....
I doubt the bandstand will even be ready by September judging by how it's looking right now.
Absolutely gutted, have booked 2 nights at travel Lodge for this event, and would be over 2 hours travelling to Harlow, not even we are very sorry, and sure plenty of others had made special arrangements to attend, awful treatment of public, so cross
