Phoenix Resource Centre, Harlow

Organised by SEEE in collaboration with Essex Social Enterprise Network

Are you an existing voluntary organisation thinking about trading?
Are you thinking about starting a social enterprise?
Do you already run a social enterprise but are thinking about diversifying your income streams?
Are you looking for income with no strings attached?

Then this friendly, free, half-day workshop Running on Fumes? is for you! It’s for anyone with an interest in diversifying their funding streams through trading and enterprise and looking to grow their positive social or environmental impact on the world.

About the workshop

The workshop explores ideas for earning income to support social goals. We will be doing some lateral thinking to explore ways of spotting new opportunities, thinking about how to test if this is a good idea or not and identifying the next steps for your organisation to make some decisions. It is a valuable opportunity to get some expert input into your organisation’s strategic direction as well as having opportunity to sound check your ideas with your peers.

The workshop will start at 10 (registration and coffee from 9.30) and finish at 12.30 with lunch and further opportunity to network

You will also have the opportunity to hear from a fellow practitioner who will share their experiences of securing monies with no string attached through trading and creative thinking.

Neil Woodbridge from Thurrock Lifestyle Solutions CIC will share how became a trading organisation – the motivations and the practicalities. He will talk about the barriers faced and how he overcame them – also his thoughts on social investment.
