PASSMORES Academy’s Pop Choir started off the Christmas season last week by visiting Sumners Care Home to deliver some Christmas cheer to the local residents.

Teachers, Mrs Schultschik and Mr Butler accompanied the keen-voiced cherubim as they entertained the assembled folk. A selection of traditional and more modern Christmas classics were chosen by the choir to perform and the students reflected that it started off their festive celebrations in the perfect way.

Mrs Schultschik said “The best part of our visit to the Sumners Care Home for me was to see what wonderful human beings my singers had become. They truly empathised and enjoyed making others happy.

Some of our older students recognised some of the residents from our last year’s visit too. The elderly folk clapped and sang along to the Christmas jingles and were joyful and full of the Christmas spirit. We are all looking forward to our next visit which will be at the Abbot Care Home.”

The Pop Choir have a busy school term as they will be singing at the Passmores Senior Citizens Christmas Party and the Passmores Christmas Concert as well as visiting another care home to spread the season’s greetings.
