PLANNING permission has been granted for a brand new senior school in the grounds of the old Passmores site.
The plans were approved at a meeting of the Harlow Council planning committee meeting on Wednesday night.
A forty minute film of the agenda item is below.
There were a number of objectors including members of the governing body of Harlow Fields school and the Harlow Civic Society.
It was clear that a number of councillors were unhappy with the application, especially with the design. Cllr Jean Clark described it as a “missed opportunity”.
The school is set to accommodate 1700 students and will be called Sir Frederick Gibberd College. It is part of the BMAT group that oversees ten schools including Burnt Mill Academy.
