HARLOW Rugby Club has issued a statement detailing its plans regarding Coronavirus.
The club based at Latton Park, off Howard Way has also announced that a youth coach “has been diagnosed with the virus and is in hospital.”
Here is the full statement from the club.
“WITH COVID-19 developing at a pace and amongst other things interrupting sport around the world we wanted to reach out to share the clubs latest plans and response.
We are not immune to the fall-out of the virus and have therefore set-up a small working group to monitor and advise the clubs position, this will be managed by Paul Tucker; Rugby, Alan Brooking; Latton Park and Chris McFerran; All things Hygiene.
We are following all RFU, government protocols and Public Health England’s advice and in particular Public Health England’s “COVID-19 Guidance for Employers” https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-to-employers-and-businesses-about-covid-19 which lays out step-by- step what and when we need to do things.
We do have to report that one of our youth coaches has been diagnosed with the virus and is in hospital. Whilst our coach was at the club last Wednesday evening we are advised that he did not enter the club and unless you have any COVID-19 symptoms; Cough; Difficulty in Breathing; Fever and need to self-isolate its business as usual.
We understand that if there were any major issues we will be contacted by Public Health England directly and advised what to do. We wish our coach a full and speedy recovery.
Currently ALL matches and training can still go ahead as planned. Please do not make knee jerk reactions and assure all your players; parents; coaches etc., that the well-being of you all is our priority and we are monitoring constantly.
As a club we need a co-ordinated approach to what we do so please do not post anything alarmist which could well be ill-informed; contradictory to the clubs message with all sorts of un-intended implications!
Our 1st XV game was cancelled today as Mavericks couldn’t field a team; our Rams and Saints games went ahead as planned.
If you do have any questions or concerns please e-mail [email protected] and we will advise accordingly
