Passmores Head, Vic Goddard tells government” “What we need is clarity”

THIS has been a very difficult day for all concerned in education. When we arrived at Passmores Academy, chief executive of the Passmores Learning Community, Vic Goddard, had just spoken to a Year 11, who overnight may have just finished their time at their beloved school.
We sat down with Mr Goddard for a few minutes to understand exactly what the closures meant for the Passmores community and what his message was for the government.
China, for the 4th time, if you include Spanish Flu, are poisoning the planet, they have killed millions. We are struggling to combat this and we all need to do our bit. Clear enough for you?
Many thanks for the brilliant job schools are doing Vic. It's enabling those on the front frontlines like the nhs and care workers to function. It's a pity that inflation makes it a necessary these times for parents both to work full time ( definitely not knocking the moves for women to have careers)
Passmores Academy mentioned in this article: Parents heeding calls to keep children home from school, say heads https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/23/parents-heeding-calls-to-keep-children-home-from-school-say-heads "Vic Goddard, co-principal of Passmores Academy, in Harlow, Essex, spoke for many heads when he said he felt both scared and angry about the challenges facing headteachers, and complained about lack of leadership from the government."
