Harlow tip chaos: Company making Covid-19 face masks faces battle against chaotic tip traffic queues

News / Fri 22nd May 2020 at 05:44pm

A NUMBER of businesses in River Way, have complained that the queues for the recycling centre (tip) in Harlow are impacting on their businesses.

There have been chaotic scenes on River Way after Essex County Council re-opened the tip with traffic stretching as far back as Edinburgh Way.

YH went down there on Friday afternoon to speak to Clive Sims of Sims Engineering and Paul Walker of Hoddesdon Distribution about the problems.

Sims Engineering produce face masks which as we all now have become an important part in fighting transmission during Covid-19 pandemic.

When YH went down there, all the signs said the tip was closed but there appeared to be a queue of traffic being ushered into the centre by Essex County Council staff. A bit like, staff at home, unless you have to go out.
