Covid-19: No deaths at PAH in Harlow for nearly seven weeks

THE NUMBER of deaths reported to NHS England by Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) remains at 201.

There have been no recorded deaths in last forty eight days.

The last death was registered on May 25th.

YH has asked the press office at Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) to detail how many “active” cases of Covid-19 they have but they continue to refer us to the NHS England website, which is, well, complicated.

Each death is a tragedy and we will never overlook the thousands of deaths that have occurred but there are encouraging signs.

On April 4th there was 777 deaths registered in England. The daily tally peaked at 899 on April 8th and did not go below 500 until April 21st.

On July 11th, there were no (hospital) deaths registered for the whole of England. That is the first time, a zero deaths figure had been registered since May 7th. These figures do get adjusted and that has sadly been increased to nine for all hospital deaths in England on that day.

We hope this helps.

For your guidance, we have been told in the past that Harlow residents make up just over 40% of the client base of Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Please also note that according to the NHS England data, “data is likely to change”.
