Dr Fay Gilder to join Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust as new medical director

A NEW medical director has been appointed at the NHS trust which runs Bishop’s Stortford’s hospital.

Dr Fay Gilder joins Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) from Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUHFT).

She will take up her post at the Harlow general hospital on November 2 after more than 25 years at CUHFT, where she is a consultant anaesthetist and the clinical director for improvement and transformation.

She said: “I’m delighted to be joining the Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust at such an exciting time.

“I’m passionate about openness, diversity of thinking, knowledge sharing and technology as ways of enabling great clinical outcomes together.

“I’m very much looking forward to working with all of my colleagues at PAHT to support the delivery of our ambitious plans as we move into a new hospital.”

Lance McCarthy, chief executive at the trust, said: “Fay joins us with a wealth of experience in senior leadership roles and is driven by improving the quality, safety and experience of care for patients and the working lives of staff.

“I’m extremely pleased to have appointed Fay to this key role at PAHT and very much look forward to welcoming her to the team in the autumn.”
