St Clare Hospice announce Walking in Memory event
Charity / Tue 4th Aug 2020 pm31 12:24pm
ST CLARE Hospice are delighted to invite you to their second annual St Clare Walking in Memory event on Sunday 20th September 2020, when they will gather to remember loved ones and celebrate their lives.
A spokesperson said: “Walking in Memory is our flagship sponsored fundraising event, when we come together with other local people and families to take part in a 5k walk in honour of a loved one. It’s a special event for the whole family to take part in, and is a thoughtful way to honour those who we love and miss by coming together with others who understand.
Our team have been working hard to make sure this special event can still go ahead safely and we have done a thorough Covid-19 risk assessment and will be adhering to all current government guidance.
This year, in order to keep everyone safe, we will have three staggered start times of 10am, 11am and 12noon with a maximum 100 people per time slot. On the day, please only arrive 30 minutes before your agreed start time. Each timed group of people will be kept separate from the other groups, to minimise the number of people coming into contact.
Starting from St Clare Hospice, the walk will set off on a 5k route throughout the beautiful fields and footpaths of the local Hastingwood countryside (courtesy of Paris Hall Farm), and meeting back at the Hospice for a hot soup and a roll. On the day, you will receive a complimentary, hand-held windmill that can be personalised in memory of the person you are walking for. The windmills will be placed in the Hospice grounds as part of a temporary display, however, there will also be some available for you to buy and take home.
Remember to raise Sponsorship!
By walking in memory of someone special, you’ll also be helping to raise vital funding that supports St Clare to continue offering our specialist, compassionate care to local people living with a life-limiting illness, and their families.
The ticket registration fee helps us to cover the cost of the event, but we are asking that participants raise as much sponsorship as they can from family, friends and colleagues. Click here to set up your online fundraising page today!
