OVER a hundred residents paid their respects at a ceremony to mark the 75th anniversary of Victory in Japan (VJ Day).
The ceremony took place in The Greyhound car park at Harlow Town Park on Saturday.
It takes place there as there are a number of memorials dedicated to VJ Day there.
It was hosted by the Harlow branch of the Royal British Legion and led by Marjorie Howell.
The chair of Harlow Council, cllr Maggie Hulcoop was present.
It was particularly poignant as one of Harlow’s last surviving veterans fo the Far East campaign, Richard Edser, died a few day sago.
Members of his family were present.
