A FUNERAL is set to be held for a much-loved Harlow woman who has passed away,

Old Harlow resident Lorraine Gonzales died recently after falling ill in March.

Lorraine was a popular person in the Churchgate Street area. She worked as a carer for the disabled and elderly. Many recognised diminutive Lorraine when, partnered by her two dogs, she played the Christmas elf at the church festive events.

She has already been deeply missed by the local Churchgate community with plans for a bench or some form of permanent memorial for her.

Her daughter, Alice Humphreys said: “On Friday 14th August, our beautiful Mum was taken from us far too early. No one is ever prepared to lose a parent but we certainly were not.

Our Mum lived alone with her two lovely doggies in a wonderful street and worked where she could as a carer for the elderly and for disabled children.

“She was one in a million and deserves nothing but the best send off in the world which myself and my sister would love to give her.

Lorraine’s funeral will be held at St Mary’s church in Churchgate Street, Old Harlow on Wednesday Augurat 26th at Noon.

Covid-19 rules apply with a maximum of thirty visitors but people are welcome to stand outside.

There will be a function at Paringdon Sports Club afterward.
