Valiant Verena raises hundreds for charity by “cycling” to Lands End

Charity / Wed 26th Aug 2020 at 01:17pm

VERENA Pudney is well known for her can-do attitude. The Fullers Mead resident proved that once again by undertaking a marathon lockdown cycle challenge.

Verana, aged 67, got on her exercise bike at home and cycled for 40 minutes, every day for thirty days.

By the end she had cycled 320 miles, the equivalent of pedalling from Harlow to Lands End.

Verena divided the £500 she had raised between three charities.

One of them was the Harlow Stroke Support and Rehab Centre.

Verana and her daughter Carina went along to centre, based at the Great Parndon Community Centre to meet Jean Miley and hand over the cheque.

Her daughter Carina was so proud of her mum that she presented her with a special medal and as she is a West Ham fan, the medal had a special claret and blue ribbon.
