AN OLD Harlow pub is under investigation after complaints regarding alleged breaches of Covid-19 regulations.
Residents have written to Harlow Council and Essex Police in relation to The Chequers public house on Market Street in Old Harlow.
One resident posted a film on YouTube which although unverified, appears to show a group of people congregating together whilst loud music is being played.
YH understand this was Sunday night (August 30th).
A spokesperson for Harlow Council said: “We are reviewing information that we have received and we are consulting with our partners about possible actions. This remains an active case and our licensing and environmental health teams are in dialogue with the pub about the actions they need to take to remain Covid-19 compliant.”
Essex Police has also confirmed that they are working with partner agencies as part of this investigation.
Old Harlow councillor Joel Charles spoke to YH.. Cllr Charles said: “I have been made aware of concerns regarding this matter.
“I will also be liaising with residents and partner agencies to see what action needs to be taken.”
YH invited management at The Chequers to comment but to date has not received a response.
No surprises there. Can Cllr Charles confirm in which form the residents' liaisons will take? Regards.
About time, that pub has never played by the rules!! The crown should also be looked into!
Test
