A HARLOW pub at the centre of numerous complaints over breaches of Covid-19 guidance has been issued with a final warning.

A statement was read out by the portfolio holder for the environment, cllr Danny Purton at a Harlow Council meeting tonight (Thursday).

Cllr Purton said: “As I said last week, we have been extremely concerned at the activities at The Chequers public house in Market Street, Old Harlow.

“I am announcing this evening that after a multi-agency review held in the Civic Centre yesterday, Essex County Council public health team have today issued a Community Protection Directive (CPD)…which is in effect a final warning before closure.

“Close monitoring and gathering information will be continued”.

Old Harlow councillor, Joel Charles welcomed the news.

Cllr Charles said: “I welcome this news. All three Old Harlow councillors and MP Robert Halfon have been working closely on this.

“The CPD sets out the reasons why The Chequers will no longer be allowed to play loud music which has caused stress and frustration.

“I welcome that Essex County Council has worked with Harlow Council.

By working together we can tackle these type of issues in Harlow.

“It sends out a message to all licensed premises that if you do ignore the guidance, then action will be taken to protect lives.”

These draconian measures will cost peoples sanity in the long run. There’s no proof of virus. No one dropping dead in the street. The Nightingale hospital wansn’t  even used in London. Tests for Covid can’t test for Covid!!! When will this farce be fully exposed?
