THE NUMBER of days that the HTS depot in Harlow can be used for Covid-19 testing has been extended from two days to four.

As the government ramps up its testing programme and in light of the increase in cases throughout the country the DHSC and NHS are continuing to look at all the help and support local districts can give them.

HTS has been supporting the NHS by allowing them to use their Mead Park Depot (off Edinburgh Way) as a Covid-19 Test Centre on two days of the week .

They have now agreed to extend it to four.

This will be Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays/Sunday

This is not a “walk-in” service. You must go through the usual channels.

HTS in Harlow is set to be a base for a Covid-19 track and trace centre.

The centre will be based at their Mead Park depot off Edinburgh Way.

HTS have now agreed to this as a positive contribution to the health and wellbeing of its staff and to the wider community.

An HTS spokesperson said: “All risks assessments have been carried out by our operations team to ensure that there is no risk to the health and wellbeing of our employees

“This testing facility will be run by NHS Staff who will be provided with access to our rest and welfare facilities

HTS’s operations manager, Stella Dunlop is pleased that HTS has been chosen as a suitable site.

Ms Dunlop said: “It is great that HTS can get involved and assist in the fight against coronavirus in even a small way.

“We are passionate about the health of our workforce and the wider community and proud to serve Harlow and our local communities in this way.”

Her words have been echoed by the managing director of HTS, John Philips. Mr Philips said: “I am very proud that HTS is proving to be a strong community leader on this and as always we are continuing to serve Harlow as promised to the residents of Harlow”.

It has been agreed that initially it will be for two days per week (Wednesdays and Sunday’s) commencing this week and will be taking place in a sectioned off part of their car parking arrangements at HTS Mead Park.
