Grow your business with ACL Apprenticeships
ACL Essex Apprenticeships are helping businesses build for the future by supporting them with the recruitment of new apprentices and upskilling their current employees. Businesses could receive funding of up to £3,000 to support them to take on a new apprentice with full control over where this funding is spent.
The ACL Apprenticeship programme has been running throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. It is designed to be as flexible as possible to meet the demands of a busy workplace and can support businesses on their recovery journey. At present, the programme is offered online through digital learning platforms and one-to-one virtual coaching sessions.
Michelle Morris, Director of Ellacott Morris accountancy and bookkeeping, said: “Our team have been trained in house for many years, but the ACL apprenticeship programme allowed us to outsource the training so that we can focus on the clients more. It means that they gain the knowledge that they need to progress, whilst getting the relevant work experience on the job. There is a huge benefit for both us and for our team members.”
As part of National Apprenticeship Week, which runs from 8 – 14 February, ACL is celebrating the success of partner employers and apprentices by sharing their stories, informational videos, and hosting events throughout the week. All of which will be shared on ACL social feeds and website. The activity focuses on recognising employers and apprentices who have stepped up to the challenge during these unprecedented times.
Katherine Burns, Principal ACL Essex said: “We know that lots of businesses across the county have been impacted by Covid-19, however taking on an apprentice now can have huge benefits – from building capacity and helping to increase productivity, to bringing fresh ideas about how to adapt your business model or ways of working.”
ACL is the largest provider of adult education in Essex and the main apprenticeship provider for Essex County Council. Apprenticeships are delivered to businesses and public sector organisations across the county, and support individuals looking for work and development opportunities. Apprenticeships are offered at levels 2 through to 5 in a range of occupational sectors. Programmes are suitable for school and college leavers, those currently in employment looking for a change in career, and those who require new skills to support a promotion or change of job role.
ACL will be running online information events for both employers and apprentices during National Apprenticeship Week. The employers’ event will run on 11 February 2-3pm and the information event for potential apprentices will be held on 11 February 5-6pm. To sign up visit www.aclessex.com/apprenticeship-events
