Shocking state of derelict site at The Stow

LAST year, we reported that planning permission had been granted for 88 new homes in the unit area at the back of The Stow.
On Thursday, we took a trip to the units and found that the area was in a shocking state.
You can see from our film that it extremely dilapidated and appears to be a fire hazard. In fact there is evident that a fire has taken place.
Of course, this is (like the rubbish in the town centre) private land but we asked Harlow Council if anything could be done?
A Harlow Council spokesperson said: “The main problem area in the Stow Service Industry Bays is in private ownership.
“Council staff have advised the agent of the owner of the issues and recommended that action is taken.
“The situation will continue to be monitored. The site is due for re-development shortly, so we hope that the problem is eliminated permanently in the near future”.
