THE CRIES of “It’s Coming Home” could be heard all across the town as England beat Germany 2-0 in the last sixteen of the European Championships.
There is many a Harlow resident who has endured many years of hurt against Germany. The 3-2 defeat in the quarter finals of the World Cup in 1970. The loss on penalties in 1996 and the 4-1 defeat in 2010 so it was great to see the goals from Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane go in.
It was also good to see the pubs and clubs around town busy. It has been so difficult for them in the pandemic.
England now play Ukraine in the quarter finals in Rome on Saturday night at 8pm.
