Harlow woman banned for refusing to take breath test

A HARLOW woman has been banned from driving for refusing to take a breath test.

Diane Wake, aged 56, of Great Brays, Harlow was banned for the following at Chelmsford magistrates court.

On June 30th, 2021 at Harlow when suspected of having driven a vehicle and having been required to provide a specimen or specimens of breath for analysis by means of a device of a type approved by the Secretary of State pursuant to section 7 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 in the course of an investigation into whether you had committed an offence under section 3A, 4, 5 or 5A thereof, failed without reasonable excuse to do so.

Wake was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 18 month(s). She has also been ordered to undertake 120 hours of unpaid work.

She is stupid not only for drink driving but not realising that a refusal to take a breath test is looked on by the court as being over the limit and carries a heavier sentence. Did she really think that by refusing the test that the police would let her on her way.
