ACL Essex / Mon 3rd Oct 2022 at 08:47am
ADULT education provider, ACL Essex, launched new family learning courses for the academic year 2022/23 at ACL Essex in Harlow.
The courses aim to help parents, carers, grandparents, and any caregivers of children provide the best support for young people, by improving mental wellbeing, healthy eating, learning opportunities and solid relationships. Courses focus on key areas, such as how to set boundaries within the home, understand the mental wellbeing of children and teens, and provide information on how to successfully help children and teenagers with their studies.
The learning provider also offers courses that encourage healthy lunchboxes, home cooking and how to cook healthy, nutritious meals for the family.
Taking place in-person or online, the hybrid courses can slot into busy schedules.
Lisa Jarentowski, ACL Essex Principal, says, “At ACL, we understand the old saying that ‘it takes a village’ to raise children. Our range of courses help parents and grandparents understand what their children need, and we provide support with everything from setting boundaries and understanding anxiety for children, to sibling rivalry and having a growth mindset.”
She continues, “We have made our courses flexible, with a variety of in-person and online sessions, so they fit right in with your family’s busy schedule. Come down to ACL Essex and speak to a member of our family learning staff to see how we could help you.”
A Family Learning Festival will take place in libraries across the county from 15 to 30 October, to inspire curiosity and support children to set goals that will help them grow and develop. Attendees will write down a goal, then complete a craft activity decorating paper butterflies, which represent the ability for change and development. The sessions aim to show that every day can be a learning opportunity. To find out more, visit www.aclessex.com.
