HARLOW residents have got to know (and love) Harlow Playhouse favourite Fanny Galore over the past few years but many may not know the man behind the mascara.

But Craig Whymark has launched a number of fundraising activities on behalf of his father, the former Ipswich Town and England striker, Trevor Whymark.

Trevor, who played 261 games for Ipswich and scored 75 goals between 1969 and 1979, has been struck down with dementia.

Craig explains more in the link below.

Craig/Fanny has organised a number of charity events in order to raise money for dementia.

Later in the year, there is a charity Tennis doubles tournament at Harlow Tennis Club.

We will keep you updated on all the events.

And for football fans, here is Trevor scoring all four goals in a UEFA Cup match against Lazio in 1974.
