London Marathon: The Harlow residents who raised thousands for charity

Athletics / Tue 25th Apr 2023 at 01:46pm

A NUMBER of Harlow residents have raised thousands for charity by completing the London Marathon.

Over the last year, they have run mile after mile through the roads, streets and cycle tracks of Harlow.

Sundays have been dominated by the ‘long run” That began at six miles and then got longer and longer and longer.

They have competed in a half marathon and as they struggled down the final mile, they have thought to themselves, “How on earth am I going to run another thirteen miles on top of that?”

But on Sunday, April 23rd, they all ran 26 miles and 385 yards.. They will remember the experience for the rest of their lives.

Well done everyone, my daughter also did it, she comes from Harlow but lives in Stortford (another daughter did the Sydney marathon a few years back). It takes a lot of guts and commitment.
