Post Office to send and receive Evri and DPD parcels

Business / Tue 7th Nov 2023 at 05:40pm

POST Office customers will soon be able to send parcels over the counter using DPD and Evri delivery services reports the BBC.

It is the first time in the Post Office’s 360-year history that people can choose to use companies other than Royal Mail.

The new service will begin in selected stores in time for the peak Christmas delivery season, said the Post Office.

All very well but When will we get a proper delivery service from the Royal Mail? No good if you want to buy stamps now as long queues .Good when there were stamp machines. Now Many small businesses bring in loads of parcels .That's their core business now It is too much effort going through their Complaints procedure to complain. Deliberately difficult so many Complaints not logged.

The Post Office, that caring company that prosecuted and imprisoned Post Office branch managers on entirely false charges of fraud even when they knew their Horizon computerised accounting system was to blame. The Post Office absolutely own this scandal as the investigation and court cases were conducted by the Post Office Investigation Department (as it was known when I worked for the Post Office). The BBB article states that of the 700 wrongly convicted only 86 have so far had their convictions overturned.
