Fire service called after report of large explosion in Potter Street

THE EMERGENCY services were called out after reports of a large explosion in the Potter Street area of Harlow.

The “large bangs” shook houses and set off alarms in the area near Potter Street Academy on Carters Mead.

An Essex Fire Service spokesperson said: “Crews were called to Carters Mead, Harlow at 12.30am but it was a false alarm and no sign of fire.”.

I heard it in CL…sounded like gunfire at first. So what was it? Is there no investigation in to it? Not acceptable for noise like that at that time of night.

Based on the noise and the flashes of light, it seemed to some idiot setting off fireworks
