Wych Elm: Man arrested on suspicion of arson endangering life

A MAN has been arrested in connection with an arson investigation in Harlow.

Police were called to a wooded area of Wych Elm shortly before 2.55am on Friday.

Officers investigating the incident arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of arson endangering life. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

It was reported a fire was started in the area, causing a person within a wooden shelter to suffer burns to his hands and back.

The man is currently in hospital being treated for his injuries.

Officers need to speak to anyone who may have been in the area between 1.30am and 3.30am.
