A SPECIAL celebration lunch was held last week (Friday 21 March) for local businesses that were awarded the first phase of Harlow Digital Boost Business Grants.

Funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, the Digital Business Boost Grant aims to enhance the digital capabilities and resilience of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Harlow. Eligible businesses were able to apply for grants of up to £2,500, which must be match-funded.

The grants give Harlow businesses the opportunity to adopt and upgrade digital solutions which can improve their online presence, increase productivity, safeguard against cyber threats and implement advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning.
The special event was held in the Council Chamber at the Civic Centre, where Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Economic Development Councillor Michael Hardware gave out certificates to those in attendance.
The second round of funding will be announced in the future so local small and medium-sized businesses, watch this space!
"The second round of funding will be announced in the future" - Well I guess that narrows it down a bit! - How and where will it be announced? - Or is this like the Harlow Covid money - We all struggled through Covid, but it was always too early or too late to apply for funding. The funding was never announced and the money all ended going to your mates!
Does no one run a business anymore that makes a product, sells it and makes a profit to keep operating or does they mostly exist on grants.
Adam, I think the purpose is to assist businesses to grow. In 1985 a mate and I started a business, we won a prize (Thatcher's govt was looking to boost business) £500 and 6 months rent free in Harlow seedbed centre. We later became a plc and sold it. So don't knock it! Harlow offers brilliant business support, Epping Forest does sweet FA. Presumably you built your business entirely on your own efforts, that is brilliant but some people find a helping hand beneficial. Harlow runs regular business events, why don't you offer to be a speaker, I, for one would expect to find it interesting
