IN October 2025, Stewards Academy proudly hosted its first ever Governors Award, marking the beginning of a new tradition that recognises students for their outstanding service to the school and wider community.

The award was established to celebrate students who consistently demonstrate commitment, leadership and a dedication to helping others. One student from each house was nominated, with the inaugural recipients being Danielle Asante, Johanne Felicite-Omole, Soraya Zaha and Taisia Florea.

To commemorate this historic occasion, an honours board has been unveiled and will take pride of place in the Academy’s main hall for years to come. The board will recognise future recipients of the Governors Award, creating a lasting legacy and celebrating the achievements of students for generations to come.

The ceremony was attended by families, teaching staff and governors, who gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of the four award winners. The event proved to be a great success and highlighted the positive impact that young people can have within their school and local community.

Stewards Academy would also like to extend its sincere thanks to Garden of India for generously sponsoring the students’ trophies and helping to make the occasion even more memorable.

Stephen Drew, Headteacher said: “The Governors Award has been created to recognise students who embody the values of Stewards Academy through their service, commitment and contribution to others. Danielle, Johanne, Soraya and Taisia are worthy recipients of this inaugural award and excellent role models for our school community. We are proud to honour them as the first names on our Governors Award honours board and look forward to celebrating many more students in the years ahead.”

The Governors Award is set to become an annual event, ensuring that the exceptional contributions of Stewards Academy students continue to be recognised and celebrated for many years to come.
