FIVE children from the West Essex Inclusion Project’s Monday multi-sports group took part in the second annual Disability Day at Lord’s Cricket Ground on Wednesday 25 June.

Disability Day is part of a wider national initiative to promote inclusion and celebrate the achievements of young people with disabilities through sport. The West Essex Inclusion Project is proud to see its young participants recognised on such a meaningful stage.

The selected children proudly represented the project by forming the Guard of Honour, serving as flagbearers, and acting as mascots ahead of the England vs India match.

Multi-sports sessions
This exciting opportunity recognises the children’s dedication and the growing impact of the West Essex Inclusion Project. The Monday multi-sports sessions, held at New City Fitness in Loughton, began in November 2024 and have continued to thrive. The sessions are supported by Lord’s Taverners, Super 1s, and Essex Cricket’s Disability Development Officer, Bradley Donovan.

Held every Monday during term time from 5pm to 6pm, the sessions offer a welcoming and inclusive environment where children of all abilities can enjoy sport, build confidence, and have fun.
