This summer, the Care Weekender is back! Rhiannon Faith Company and Harlow Playhouse bring you a weekend of FREE family friendly activities celebrating care and kindness in Harlow.

The Care Weekender will run on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd August from 12 – 5pm outside the Harlow Playhouse in Playhouse Square, CM20 1LS.

Co-created with our local steering group, the Care Weekender uses art and culture to bring people together and sprinkle some joy.

The Care Weekender will include family-friendly activities and craft workshops, creative workshops from Hip Hop Pop Dance, Dance Fusion, Generation Circus and Jigsaw Arts, performances from Rhiannon Faith Company, Four-Eyed Theatre, LAStheatre, Voices of Harlow Choir, Harlow Brass Band, Anwaar Belly Dance and many more still to be announced! Plus a free community lunch table from Community Embrace, stalls and activities from Butterfly Effect, Health Watch Essex, Harlow Creates, Rainbow Services and the Essex Library Service.

The Care Weekender is a celebration of all things care, community and connection; we aim to bring people together through arts activities to sprinkle some joy and shine a light on the care we see in Harlow. Through dance, music, art, and food, we hope people will feel welcomed, valued, and part of a community that cares for them.

Rhiannon Faith says: ‘The Care Weekender is not only a brilliant arts festival, it is also led with care at the heart of it, where anyone can come and feel like they belong. It’s got free family shows, live music and workshops, and the food is free too. Our aim is to simply bring people together for two days of joy and fun. The programme is selected by our steering group, Harlow locals, who have experienced first-hand how art can bring care and healing. They have built a beautiful programme, and I can’t wait for Harlow to get to enjoy every moment. Come along, everyone is welcome.’

The Care Weekender is co-produced by Rhiannon Faith Company and Harlow Playhouse. The project is funded using public funding by Arts Council England and Harlow Council. Performances of Emoto-matic, Caspian Storm and The Elephant and the Drummer are made possible by Applause Rural Touring.
