S.W.E.A.T: Why community champion Sheryl has been nominated for BBC Make A Difference award

IF you ever want a clue as to why Harlow’s Sheryl Wheatland has been nominated for a BBC Make A Difference award, then you just need to watch the end of one of her sessions.

We went up to the St Thomas More church hall last week.. After the hour-long work out, participants were more like friends, hugging Sheryl, chatting and the saying goodbye to the next time.

This was so much more than about cardio and calories. This was about well-being and a sense of community.

We sat down with Sheryl, to talk about her nomination, her philosophy and the sense of family she has nurtured and developed.

Unless you go to a class run by Sheryl you will never understand how amazing she is . Sheryl just gives anx gives and gives to everyone . The support for her ' SWEATERS' is not only totally genuine, but truly heartwarming . Her classes are fun and we are a little naughty sometimes, but that's all done in good faith , because we are all the best of buddies and welcome all new me.bers in the same way . I absolutely adore everything that Sheryl does for all of the community. Her efforts are beyond for her girls and each and everyone if us love her for it .. Nothing is too much ! I couldn't imagine e anyone else that would be more worthy for this award than Sheryl . She us one of a kind . .. Funny , caring , considerate and above all she works so hard to make these classes suit everyone .. Ive been with Sheryl for 18 years and its in my bones and I think life is wonderful having her in it. She gas got me through some difficult and traumatic times and sometimes not even realising it .. A BIG thank you x..
