Education: Secondary / Mon 8th Sep 2025 at 02:33pm

THE Performing Arts department at Stewards Academy embarked on the first enrichment trip of the academic year this week, venturing into the land of Narnia at the Sadler’s Wells Theatre, London.

Fifty Year 8 and Year 9 students, alongside accompanying staff, were treated to a magical theatrical adventure as they watched The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe based on the novel by C.S.Lewis.

Audience members were immersed in the production and were thoroughly engrossed as the story developed.

One student said: “I’m so happy I came to see this play. It was absolutely brilliant!”

Another said: “I loved everything about it, the acting, the costumes, everything!”

Julia Lysons, Subject Leader for Music and trip leader said: “This was a fantastic performance to bring our students to. Such high-quality theatre should be experienced and enjoyed by many. The use of the ensemble and physical theatre was amazing, as were so many aspects of the show including the dance and music that fitted so well with the story and action. It made the show even more magical and the whole audience were swept away. The students were fantastic and a credit to Stewards.”
