NORTH Weald Market’s future is assured. Epping Forest District Council has issued the unusual reassurance after misinformed social media reports suggested it would close in December.

The £88 million Google purchase of land at North Weald Airfield includes part of the parking area currently used by shoppers. Epping Forest District Council is creating a new parking area to ensure no interruption to the market when Google takes over its land in December.

“North Weald Airfield is going from strength to strength. The Google data centre is a case in point. The new parking area is part of our ongoing investment to maintain the market. Construction of the permanent home for TVS is going well and we remain committed to aviation.
