EDDIE the Eagle Edwards Backs Yellow Brick Rd as Crowdfunder Launches to Support Disadvantaged Pupils

Olympic ski jumper and British sporting legend Eddie the Eagle Edwards is backing Yellow Brick Rd, a Harlow-based Community Interest Company dedicated to giving disadvantaged pupils the chance to succeed through free one-to-one tuition in maths, English, and science.

Yellow Brick Rd works with local secondary schools to provide targeted academic support for pupils who need help but cannot afford private tutoring. With government funding for tuition programmes no longer available, the organisation relies on donations and sponsorship to continue this vital work.

Founder and Assistant Headteacher Russell Perrin said:
“We’re thrilled to have Eddie’s support — his story of resilience and determination perfectly reflects what Yellow Brick Rd stands for. I’d like to thank everyone who has already donated and the many local companies who have sponsored us. Their generosity is helping Harlow’s young people reach their full potential.”

The charity has now launched its official Crowdfunder campaign, inviting the public and local companies to contribute whatever they can to help fund tutoring hours and make a real difference to a pupil’s education.
