Newhall Farmers Market is giving back to the community, quite literally

THE volunteer-run market, which has become a much-loved fixture for local residents, is purchasing 40 brand-new books for the Newhall Primary Academy library.

In addition, the Market is also donating a selection of toys and equipment to Smiles Montessori, Newhall, our local nursery, in appreciation of their continued support.

These gestures are a small way of saying thank you to both the school and the nursery, who kindly allow Newhall Farmers Market to use their car parks on market days, helping the event run smoothly and safely for visitors.

“The Farmers Market has always been about more than shopping,” said Derek Hamilton, Communication and Community Development Coordinator at Newhall Projects Ltd. It’s about connection, care, and community. Supporting the children who live and learn here feels like the most natural way to reflect our ethos of Growing Kindness Locally.”

The donations form part of the market’s wider commitment to supporting local life, from championing small, independent traders to reinvesting profits into community projects.

Newhall Farmers Market takes place on the 2nd Sunday of the month on Forge Lane, Newhall, Harlow, and is proudly run by local volunteers with generous support from Fortune & Coates Estate Agents.
