Rainbow Services holding a host of Christmas events

Lifestyle / Fri 12th Dec 2025 at 09:49am

RAINBOW Services are in full festive swing, spreading cheer to the people of Harlow. Charity Age UK have warned that up to 1.5 million older people are set to be alone this Christmas. The Community Builder team at Rainbow Services are battling social isolation and loneliness in the Harlow retired community and have some wonderful events lined up in the next two weeks with spaces on if anyone would like to join us.

There are two more Christmas lunches for local retired and semi-retired people. From 11:30am-3pm on Wednesday 17 December we will be hosting lunch at Leah Manning Centre and on Thursday 18 December, we will be at Harlow Rugby Club. For a suggested donation of £15 to the charity, you will receive a delicious two course meal, hot drinks and a singer to entertain you after dinner. These are great jolly events helping you meet new people in Harlow. Please contact Carol on 07849 087790 or [email protected] asap if you’d like to book a ticket.

Finally on Monday 22 December, our Community Hub team will be hosting a children and family Christmas Party at the GPCA Playbarn. Thanks to funding from Essex ActivAte, this popular event with entertainer, crafts, Santa’s grotto and a Christmas buffet lunch is free for families receiving Free School Meals or on low incomes. Please visit our website for more information and details on how to book – https://rainbowservices.org.uk/events/event/5546
