HARLOW-based charity Rainbow Services, which works to improve the lives of local people, arranged a magical free Christmas party for 100 local families on Monday 22nd December.

The party, held at the GPCA, featured a festive buffet with turkey, gammon, and all the trimmings.  Guests also enjoyed party food and sweet treats and even took home a Christmas hamper. A lively Christmas elf entertained children with a disco and party games. Families enjoyed a Christmas themed craft activity corner and even surprise visits from Santa Claus and The Grinch!

Thanks to very generous toy donations from staff at Harlow based company Synthomer, Bishops Stortford based construction company Chas Berger and even personal contributions from local families, every child had the chance to meet Santa Claus and left with a wonderful gift.

The Hill Group hosted their Kindness Shop at the event, offering free pre-loved items for families.

The event was funded by the Active Essex Winter Experience Fund.

Families from across Harlow, along with beneficiaries of Rainbow Services projects throughout 2025, were welcomed to the event. It provided a wonderful opportunity for people to come together and enjoy an afternoon of free, festive fun in the lead up to Christmas.

Sharon Summerfield, CEO at Rainbow Services said:

“Seeing so many families come together for an afternoon of festive fun was truly heartwarming. Thanks to the generosity of our partners and supporters, every child left with a smile and a gift. We are also grateful to Active Essex for funding the event, which made this celebration possible.

This event reflected what Rainbow Services is all about—bringing joy, support, and community spirit to Harlow.
