Promoted Essex referees rewarded for development and dedication

A TOTAL of 29 local match officials have earned promotions at the conclusion of the second quarter of the 2025/26 season, as announced by the Essex County FA.

The referees have been recognised for their continued development and dedication, and the newly-released list highlights all of those who have been congratulated and elevated to higher ranks as part of the latest round of Level 3, 4, 5 and 6 promotions.

Essex County FA Referee Development Manager, Lukas Wood, who operates alongside Joseph Greenleaf in the Referees Team, is delighted to announce the successful promotions, commenting: “Huge congratulations go to each individual – we’re looking forward to continuing to support them on their journey. These match officials have demonstrated their desire to progress through the refereeing levels with their positive on-field and off-field performances.”

Promoted to Level 3 (Steps 3 & 4 Referee): Michael Wright.

Promoted to Level 4 (Steps 5 & 6 Referee): Connor Cornell, Daniel Goodman, Matthew Hills, Ciprian Juganaru, Daniel Lane, Jake Molloy, Mihai Nitu, Christopher Rammell, Chay Saggers, Lewis Sibbons.

Promoted to Level 5 (Senior County Referee): Henry Bonsu, Stephen Hull, Joshua Hussey, Ashley Lockhart, Robert Walker, Andrew Wood.

Promoted to Level 6 (County Referee): Lucas Blackburne, Joshua Burke, Oliver Chernanko, Christopher Final, Florin Grigoras, Alastair Hawkins, Jake Jenner, Harley Lamb Bentley, Harrison Lewis, Sean Purcell, Veally Rice, Adem Salih.
