Update: Statement from Essex Police

“Around 9.30am yesterday morning, Tuesday, October 16, officers asked the driver of a black Ford Fiesta to stop after they were alerted to suspicious behaviour on Southern Way in Harlow.

The driver failed to stop and a pursuit was authorised.

The Fiesta driver then got out of his car near to Nicholls Field and ran off.

Officers were unable to find the driver and work is ongoing to identify him.

TWO police motorbike riders pursued a car through the streets of Harlow on Tuesday morning.

The chase occurred at just after 9.30am.

The car was left abandoned on a side street of Nicholls Field.

Two motorbike officers searched nearby gardens.
