YH will be following Harlow’s hardy runners as they train for the London Marathon in April.
We welcome news of any local resident who is taking on all 26 miles and 365 yards of the famous course.
First up is Mark Grant. Mark has run marathons before and his training is going well but who is he running for?
In his own words:
“My name is Mark Grant, I’m a primary school teacher working at Hare Street Primary School and I’m running the London Marathon 2020 for Guide Dogs UK.
My wife and I are both volunteers for the charity and have been puppy walkers for almost 6 years.
We have seen first hand, the incredible dedication and hard work of the staff both in training and administration. We have also been lucky enough to witness the amazing difference these phenomenal animals make to their visually impaired owners.
This wonderful charity relies entirely on donations to do their fantastic work.
“Every penny counts.
