Motorcyclist who died in collision on Elizabeth Way named as inquest opened

A MOTORCYCLIST who died in a collision in Harlow has been named at an inquest at Essex Coroner’s Court reports Herts Live.

Rick Petrie from Hertford was driving his motorbike on Elizabeth Way on April 3rd when he was involved in a collision with a car. Emergency services attended the scene at around 11am, sadly Mr Petrie was declared dead at the scene.

A police cordon was put in place while paramedics worked and forensic investigators examined the scene. The road remained closed for most of the day.

The inquest was adjourned and will re-commence depending on the outcome of the police investigation.

Essex Police are still appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact them. Anyone with information should call 101, quoting incident number 360 of April 3. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or visit crimestoppers-uk.org.

Judging by the state of the car the motorcyclist weren't hanging around.
