Harlow residents encouraged to take the next step with GCSE courses this September
ACL Essex / Tue 16th Jun 2026 at 07:12am
ACL Essex is encouraging residents to enrol on GCSE courses starting this September.
The adult learning provider is keen to show how gaining a qualification can open doors to new jobs or training.
With enrolment now open, Essex residents can achieve GCSEs in key subjects. These include English, maths, biology, chemistry and physics. Qualifications in these subjects remain essential for employment, further study and everyday life.

Councillor Sam Journet, Cabinet Member for Education, SEND and Skills, said: “GCSEs can be a turning point for many adults. Whether you’re looking to progress in your career, move into further education or simply challenge yourself, ACL Essex provides the support to help you succeed. It’s never too late to learn.”
The courses are designed for adults and offer flexible learning options. Learners can study at a time that suits them, via both local community venues and online learning.
Recent ACL Essex learner successes show the impact GCSEs can have.
Darcy Jackson, from Chelmsford, achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE English and is now working towards a career in clinical psychiatry.
Natalie Rogers achieved a Grade 8 in English and has since progressed to GCSE Maths and an Access course in Criminology.
Many courses are free for eligible learners. Enrolment is now open for courses starting in September.

Total washout for class based courses on Harlow. All that is available is the online mode of learning. Might just as well but a book.
Self belief will get you further. Don’t wait for your boat to come in, swim out to meet it. Please remember that in life you only get one, make the most of it
