LIVEWIRE celebrated its 25th anniversary with a special celebratory evening at the Harlow Playhouse.
Livewire is community theatre for young people but over the past twenty five years it has become the creative lifeblood of the town.

There were a number of elements to the event but YH stayed for the speeches and presentations.
The first speaker was Chair of Harlow Council, Cllr Andrew Johnson. Cllr Johnson is a great advocate for the performing arts and especially Livewire.
He was followed by Harlow Council’s Artistic Director, Rory Davies. Livewire have become an essential part of the creative hub that is the Harlow Playhouse.
It was also fascinating to hear from Creative Director of TheatreActive, Pete Marchant. His warm and engaging speech gave an overview of how far Livewire have come, paying tribute to past and present members.

But perhaps the greatest testimonies were given by two present students, Logan and Stacey. In emotional speeches, they both testified how much Livewire means to them and has touched their lives.
There were also three special awards. The Harlow Playhouse Spotlight Award won by Millie Thompson. The Pete Brown Inspiration Award was won by Dana Kassar. The Pat Walker Shining Star Award was won by William Hobbes.
Finally, this part of the evening was concluded by the Creative Director of Livewire, Sam Ashford, who has done so much to not just keep Livewire alive but for it to grow and flourish.
