THREE fundraisers are preparing to take on the Brighton Marathon in aid of disability charity Accuro (Care Services) on Sunday 7th April.

Callum Rayner, are running the Brighton Marathon together, helping to raise vital funds for Accuro

and “hope to make a meaningful difference to the lives of others in the community”.

With the help of fellow personal trainer, Luke Fishpool — the former chef patron of The Lemon

Tree restaurant, the pair organised a Charity Cook-along on Friday 8th March with all proceeds

going to towards their fundraising total, impressively raising three quarters of their £1,200 target

so far.

The third runner, Alex Winstanley, Head of Service Management & Business Partnering at Brooks

Macdonald, has volunteered at Accuro Clubs in the past, and is also taking on a TS Trail Half

Marathon in Snowdonia as part of his fundraising. Alex has exceeded his target of £600 and has

raised an amazing £750.

Alex said: “I’m delighted to be supporting Accuro by running Brighton Marathon knowing that

the money raised will directly make a difference. I’ve seen first hand, as a former volunteer, the

impact donations have, such as day trips out. Knowing every penny raised will put smiles on their

faces and help make things like that happen, makes the pain all the worth it.”

Fundraising Manager, Sue Fishpool said “We can’t wait to cheer on Alex, Mike and Callum at the

Brighton Marathon in April. They, and all our challengers whatever they choose to do, from

running to cycling and abseils, are making such a difference for local people with a disability and

their families. They are changing lives and we can’t thank them enough.”
