STUDENTS at Burnt Mill Academy were given a unique opportunity to leave a lasting legacy on the school’s new building project, as part of a special competition to sign the steel frames that form the structure of the upcoming facility.

The competition, which invited students to submit personal reasons for wanting to write a message, saw a flood of inspiring and heartfelt responses. Chosen based on the quality and thoughtfulness of their submissions, the lucky winners were given an exclusive chance to physically sign their names, along with a message, on the steel beams that will form the heart of the new school.

Once selected, the students were kitted out in hard hats and boots and escorted to the building site, where they had the chance to witness the scale and scope of the ambitious project. With construction progressing, the site offered an insightful look into the future of the school.
