Man charged with theft of mobility scooter in Harlow

ESSEX Police have charged a man following the theft of a mobility scooter in Harlow.

The black scooter was taken from Hornbeams between 10pm on 14 May and 12pm on 15 May.

A man was arrested in connection with this theft on Tuesday 20 May.

Mark Jeffery, 38, of Bramble Rise in Harlow, has now been charged with theft of conveyance, criminal damage, common assault and two counts of shop theft.

He appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 21 May and will return to the same court for trial on 23 July 2025.

Harlow is really dropping into the gutter with thugs going around taking disabled people's mobility scooter which is their only means of being independent. What the hell is wrong with these thugs that they want to do something like that. All for the stupidity of thinking it's a laugh for a short while. Well it's not when you have been caught & it's certainly not a laugh for us who need these scooters. The people that do this need to be punished severely & hope that when it comes to them with disabilities that this behaviour never happens to them.
