Dispersal Order in place for Epping on Sunday

Crime / Sat 26th Jul 2025 at 11:22am

A DISPERSAL order will be put in place on Sunday to ensure the community in Epping is safe.

The order, which is in place from 12pm on Sunday 27 July until 8am on Monday 28 July, covers an area including the town centre and transport hubs and networks such as the tube station.

It gives officers the power to direct anyone suspected of committing anti-social behaviour, or planning to do so, to leave the area or face arrest.

Assistant Chief Constable Stuart Hooper said: “We are using our powers to keep our community in Epping safe.

“Where there has been previous protest activity, we have seen sustained anti-social behaviour in addition to any disorder that we have dealt with during the protest itself.

“This order will not prevent lawful and peaceful protest, but ensure people are safe both during and after the planned activity.

“We will also be using other powers available to us to ensure people can carry out their democratic right to protest safely.

“If you’re planning to come to Essex to commit crime or disorder, our message is clear – don’t bother, you will be dealt with.”

You would have to ask, Why are such orders not used in London weekly when parts of London are taken over by the far left ?

Maybe, just maybe Seamus, because the marches in London pass off largely without without incident and those people don't go to smash up the police - They go to demonstrate. I think the Assistant Chief Constable explains it quite clearly.

Well said Janet. The far right are have no respect for the police and want to protest violently.

You must have missed the 100 arrests last week in London then, 70 on the 12th and 20 on the 5th. Perhaps if you remove the rose tinted glasses and look at the arrest figures for the far left, you might see the honesty that you've avoided?

Seamus - I consider myself right of centre and I'm able to read and understand what Janet said - How do i explain it to you - Janet is saying that those arrested in London were not bashing police men - Police will read a situation and then react how they see to be appropriate. I think in this case they have got it right. They have much more experience at dealing with these flag shaggers than you or I - I really don't know how individual police officer can be visiting a school or dealing with a disorientated pensioner one shift and then on the next shift be dealing with this lot - Just read what people say and hold back on your constant 'whataboutery' and attacking the police.

Tracey, if you can point out where I have attacked the police I'd be very suprised simply because I have not. People who use the whataboutery excuse are often the biggest proponents of it themselves as you have just done, you probably use the term strawman a lot too. If the figures I've listed above of far left protester arrests in London are incorrect then I'm sure you can find them with the dates on any search engine. Interestingly this evening Sky news was reporting on the protest in Norfolk today. They reported the pro illegal economic migrant protesters were seperated from those who are not in favour of them and apart from both sides being vocal, it was peacefull. That was until one of the pro protesters then went over to the other protesters to kick it off. The pushing and shoving lasted around 5 minutes but again when the far left get involved, trouble follows. You can check the sky reporters reports on their channel should you wish. It would be easy as above to blame the anti protesters but that would be to assume the migrant issue is isolated and regional but it is throughout Europe. It is a problem, it needs to be dealt with .

Tracey - "dealing with a disorientated pensioner" (your quote), particularly a one-legged, dementia-afflicted, 96 y.o., care home resident pensioner, must be SO much more traumatic for the police than dealing with "this lot" (your quote again) since they felt the need to taser and pepper spray said pensioner, something they don't seem to do to "this lot". The police officers' experience, in that case, led to entirely the wrong decision. Don't rely on 'police experience' to provide the best decision in a particular situation.

Those arrested people that were mentioned, were detained after being seen carrying placards and banners, supporting a recently banned organisation and nothing to do with the events at Epping. Prior to that banning order, there were only a few arrests, even though they were multiple people carrying illegal placards, flags and damaging monuments, 2 tier policing was the accusation. I wonder how many of these lefties who turned up at Epping would want a hotel full of these asylum seekers living in close proximity them, assaulting their young females? I would guess, none of them and that is the whole point of these protests at Epping and other locations.
