Crime / Mon 25th Aug 2025 at 10:58am

A MAN arrested after a cannabis factory was discovered in a former police station in Old Harlow will face no further action.

Police received information on Tuesday May 13th from the public about cannabis being grown at the former police station.

Inside they found a large cannabis grow and, a short time later a 22 year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cannabis cultivation and assault on an emergency worker.

His point of access appeared to be a large hole at the back of the station.

Children from the school nursery next door were sent home early due to the overwhelming smell of cannabis.

An Essex Police spokesman said: “A 22-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of cannabis cultivation and assaulting an emergency worker, will face no further action.

“This investigation has since been filed pending any further lines of enquiry becoming available.”

Walks away free after assault on an emergency worker? Either the 22 year-old was mistakenly identified as the culprit or the police can't gather the evidence. An alternative is that two-tier Starmer wants the prison spaces freed up for more street protesters while the real criminals roam the streets. I now know why Farage and Reform are banging on about a tougher approach.
