Police and crime commissioners to be scrapped in England and Wales

POLICE and crime commissioners are to be scrapped in England and Wales to save £100m over this parliament, the government has said.

The government has said that less than 20% of voters can name their PCC.
Instead, the role will move to either an elected mayor or council leaders, following the end of the commissioners’ terms in 2028.
Just hands more power to the regional mayors. Might save a few quid but to be honest it's not going to do us all much good.
Now who can be held content able If this happens the government that a laugh The PFFC have done amazing work in Essex and local communities fighting Crime
In the good old days there were police committees made up of local councillors and other representatives. The new arrangements put too much in few hands. Our local PFCC Roger Hirst has done a good job so are we going backwards?
